Jeanne L. VanArman

Jeanne was born on September 16, 1954 in Marshall to Robert C. and Juda L. E. "Judy" (Setser) VanArman. She attended Gordon School, Marshall Jr. High School and was a member of the 1972 graduating class of Marshall High School.
After graduation Jeanne went to work at Eaton Corporation in Marshall. She then enrolled at Kellogg Community College where she earned her Associates in Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. She worked as an RN in Battle Creek kidney dialysis units the majority of her career. She left that part of her field to care for patients at Brookdale Battle Creek. At the end of her career she worked in home health care, providing care to patients in their homes until her retirement. Jeanne was a caring and dedicated nurse.
Jeanne lived a full life. She had a huge heart and loved animals, especially horses! She owned three horses during her life. The first was Ginger, a little Morgan. After Ginger's passing she owned Miss Cassie D Bar, a registered quarter horse who Jeanne was proud to tell all was out of the famous quarter horse Sunny D Bar! Her last horse was Mac, a Clydesdale who stood 18 hands high! To ride Mac one had to mount him from the back of a pick up truck and be prepared to run into branches along the trail!
She loved dogs and her beloved Shitzu "Bunny" was by her side at her passing.
Jeanne was a devout Christian and member of the Marshall United Methodist Church. She volunteered at many church functions and events. Until recently, she worked two days a week at the church Welcome Center. She often made mission trips to Midwest Mission Distribution Center in Illinois, where she helped make birthing kits to send to Haiti; she traveled many times to White Oak, TN where she helped build or remodel homes for families in need. She also helped yearly at the Tekonsha Chicken BBQ.
Jeanne's huge and giving heart was also extended to anyone in need, family and friends. She would give if she had to go without. Her smile lit up a room when she came in! She was well known for her hugs!
Jeanne will be greatly missed by her family: her sister Janice L. Camp of Marshall, brother Donald R. VanArman of Lewiston, a special niece and nephew who were like her own children to her: Rebecca (Bob) Wilbur, and Ben (Randi) Camp; a niece Donna (Dana) Greiner, nephew Michael (Michelle) VanArman, and great nieces and nephews, Benjamin Camp, Annabelle Camp, Michael Wilbur, Grace Wilbur, Mya Wilbur and Asher Wilbur, Samantha Jackson, Gabe Jackson, Noah Jackson, Miranda VanArman and Meadow VanArman; and her special friend Marge Locks, whom Jeanne was making her home with since her health had failed her. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call at the Marshall Chapel of Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services,723 US 27 N. on Wednesday, Sept. 26 from 5PM - 8PM. A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church on Thursday, September 27, at 11AM. A fellowship will follow in the church's hall.
