James A. Scott

James A. Scott, 87, of Bellevue, Michigan passed away on January 4, 2021 at Eaton Community Palliative Care in Charlotte, Michigan.

James was born on February 20, 1933 in Flint, Michigan to Clifford and Thelma Blair Scott.

He was a graduate of Eaton Rapids High School. James enlisted into the United States Navy on September 20, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan and was discharged on December 4, 1953 having attained the rank of CS3. He enlisted in the United States Army on January 31, 1955 and was honorably discharged on January 17, 1958 attaining the rank of SP2. James decided to enlist in the United States Air Force on April 10, 1958 and honorably retired on February 29, 1972 as a SSG.
James went to work for 19 more years with the State of Michigan as a Senior Analyst, retiring in 1996.

James was an excellent amateur boxer in his youth. He enjoyed golfing, stamp collecting and especially cooking. His family and friends would say that he was a gourmet cook.

James is survived by his wife Sachie Scott of Bellevue, Michigan, his children; Michael (Sarah) Scott of Bellevue, Michigan, Kim (Lucio) Ramos of Corpus Christi, Texas and Jade (Brandon Slotterbeck) Scott of Toledo, Ohio. He is also survived by his grandchildren- Blair, Isabela (Fahim) Razay, Adriana, Annika and Eric. James was preceded in death by parents.

A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 8, 2021 at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan.
