Irene (Meade) Winchell

Irene Winchell, 79, of Homer, MI passed away on March 27, 2023 at Suji Assisted Living in Marshall, MI. She was born in Kestler, West Virginia on September 6, 1943, to parents, Roy and Agnes (Justice) Meade.

Irene retired from Felpausch Food Center in 2006. She was united in marriage with Robert Winchell on August 12, 1960. She and Robert enjoyed 60 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on May 7, 2021. Just like her husband, she was known for living life to the fullest. They enjoyed traveling, making many trips out west, and Las Vegas. They also enjoyed visiting Florida. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. She also enjoyed shopping.

Left to cherish her memory are children, Steven (Pamela) Winchell, Scott (JoLynn) Winchell; grandchildren, Karrissa (Josh) Gorciak, Kyle (Hannah) Winchell, Rachele Winchell, Ryan (Becca) Winchell, Torey (Cavan) Winchell; siblings, Lou (Robert) Glover, Judy (Robert) Grimes, Sandy Lee, Bonnie Meade, and Eugene (Wanetta) Meade. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Anges Meade; and siblings, Bill Meade, Lola Meade, and Robert Meade.

Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Homer Township. A memorial gathering will be held later.
