Helen Delores (VanArman) Cousino

Helen Delores Cousino, 87, of Homer, passed away on September 18, 2021, at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson, MI.

She was born on January 22, 1934, to Walter and Julia (Fisher) VanArman. Helen worked as a Cashier for Kroger and Spring Arbor P.S. Food Mart. On May 20, 1950, she married Leonard Cousino.

She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Albion. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed flea marketing with her husband for thirty years. She loved her Cadillac, which provided her independence and she enjoyed going to the casino.

Helen is survived by her children, Leonard (Debi Woolsey) Cousino Jr., Doug (Pam) Cousino, Ron (Robin) Cousino, Greg Cousino, Cindy (Lamar) McKenzie, Diane Perkins, Donna Cousino, Judy (Vince) Lefere; twenty grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Walter VanArman, Jr.; and her special friend and companion, Bob Stoll.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Cousino, Sr.; sister, Minnie May Churchill-Lusk; parents, Walter VanArman and Julia May VanArman-Keiper; son-in-law, James Perkins; grandchildren, Katherine Cousino, Doug Cousino Jr., Heather Cousino, and Scott Bunyard.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 27, 2021, at St. John the Evangelist Parish, 1020 Irwin Ave, Albion, MI 49224. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 10 a.m. until time of the Mass. Rev. Fr. Joseph Gray will officiate the Mass, with interment to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Concord.
