Gordon Lee "Farmer" Riggs

Gordon Lee “Farmer” Riggs, Sr., age 75, of Bellevue passed away Thursday, February 13, 2020 in Bellevue, MI surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 18, 1944 in Worthington, West Virginia the son of Homer Sanford Riggs and Nettie (Coss) Riggs. Gordon was a Bellevue High School graduate. He was Factory Worker and he worked at Owens – Illinois for over thirty years and then for Olivet Storage for many years. He enjoyed doing seasonal work for family and friends that needed it or could not do it themselves. He loved hunting and fishing.  Left to cherish his memory are his son, Homer William Riggs, son, Gordon Lee Riggs, Jr., daughter, Eadrie Mae-Theorie Winchell, daughter, Jenny Lou Riggs, daughter, Tammy Teresa Ellis; seventeen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Cecil Riggs, Paul (Debbie) Riggs and Ades Knifely. He was preceded in death by his late wife, Diane Riggs; father, Homer Sanford Riggs; mother, Nettie (Coss) Riggs; daughter, Ades Jean Riggs; brother, Bill Riggs; two sisters, Iona Winston and Elenor Hutchinson. Family will receive friends from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. on February, 19, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Bellevue, where a memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family or to Great Lakes Hospice.
