Gladys J. Barrington

Gladys J. Barrington, 79, of Marshall died on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at Glen Arbor Hospice Residence following a long illness.
Gladys was born on June 25, 1939 in Marshall to Ernest and Bethel (Tobey) Kraus. She graduated from Tekonsha High School in 1958, and she attended Kellogg Community College. On July 26, 1955 she married Richard Barrington in Angola, Indiana. He preceded her in death in 2008.
Gladys worked as a Nurses Aide at the Carriage Inn in Coldwater for a short time. She left work there to stay at home and raise her family and help on the farm. Gladys was a member of the Family Christen Fellowship Bible Church. She enjoyed Bingo, playing cards, and playing games with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, and especially spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy (Roger) Bullock and Melinda Hartman; seven grandchildren, Rob, Rick, Erika, Tim, Hannah, Caitlin, and Jordyn; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son Richard "Butch" Barrington in 1991; a daughter Diane Barrington in 2013; granddaughter Nikki Martin; brothers, George Kraus and Fred Kraus; and sisters Lois Miller and Helen Patten.
A private service will take place at a later date per Gladys's wishes. Memorial contributions are requested to Pennfield Premier Living. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
