Gerald Kenneth Sexton

Gerald "Bud" K. Sexton, 73, of Warner Lake, died on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family following a long illness.
Bud was born on June 12, 1947, in Battle Creek to Elmer Green and Elise Sexton. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1965. Bud joined the United States Army in 1966, and he was honorably discharged in 1968. On March 28, 1998, he married Katrina Reynolds-Hazel in Battle Creek.
Bud retired from Lowell Engineering in 2004, and prior to that he worked for the Eaton Company in Battle Creek until the plant closed. Bud enjoyed fishing, traveling though out the United States, and spent the winters at their home in Lake Placid, Florida. He also enjoyed farming, tinkering in his garage and fixing anything.
He is survived by his wife Katrina; Children, Kristi (Ted) Russell, Jodi (Josh) Karaba, Chad (Angie) Hazel, Lori (Greg) Allerding, and Susan Sexton; grandchildren, Taylor (Nate) Hayes, Erica Karaba, Matilyn Russell, Lance Russell, Autumn Hazel, Austin Hazel, Desteny Hall, and Xander Allerding; great-grandchildren Blair and Beau Hayes, Xenova Hall; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Robert Green, Bernard Green, and Karen Black.
Visitation take place from 5-8pm on Tuesday April 27, 2021 at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation 723 US Hwy 27 N Marshall MI 49068. A private funeral service will take place on Wednesday April 28, 2021 with a private interment at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions are requested to Oaklawn Hospice, 13444 Preston Drive Marshall MI 49068 ( Https://www.oaklawnhospital.org). Memorial contributions may be mailed to the Kempf Funeral Home PO Box 519 for delivery to the charity.
