Frances L. Billings, 82, of Emmett Township died on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Oaklawn Hospital following a short illness.
Frances was born on May 30, 1938 in Cloverdale Ohio to John and Margaret (Doefer) Clear. She attended Battle Creek Central High School. On November 21, 1954 she married the boy next door George E. Billings Jr. in Battle Creek. Together they celebrated 66 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on January 20, 2021.
She worked a short time at the Fannie Farmer Candy Store, and then stayed home to raise her family. Once her children got older, she went to work for Felpausch Food Center in Battle Creek. She worked for several years and retired as Deli Manager. Frances enjoyed gardening, canning, knitting, and crocheting. She loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her faithful dog "Nugget".
She is survived by her children, Michael (Robin) Billings and Annette Clark; grandchildren, Jason (Tiffany) Billings, Joshua (Kay) Billings, Jon Billings, Arran Walbeck, Mickey Clark, and Doug (Scarlett) Clark; six great-grandchildren; Jonathan, Carson, Zoey, Afton, Harper, and Greyson; and a sister Vivian Ball. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband George Billings; a granddaughter Beth Marie Billings; siblings Dorothy Walbeck, Mike Clear and Jerry Clear.
Visitation will take place on Friday February 26, 2021 from 10am-12pm at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services 2838 Capital Ave SW Battle Creek MI 49014 with funeral services celebrating her life taking place at 12pm. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions are requested to Grace Hospice, 2725 Airview Blvd Suite 101 Portage, MI 49002.
