Eunice (Tuttle) Berezonsky

February 2, 1923 — December 23, 2018

Eunice (Tuttle) Berezonsky, age 95 of Marshall, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Oaklawn Hospital following a brief illness.

Eunice was born on February 1, 1923 in Hopkins, MI to Harry and Cora (Parmalee) Tuttle. She graduated from Wayland High School in 1941 and later from Michigan State College. Eunice also attended several trade schools including resort training, high powered sewing machine training and welding school in Traverse City, MI. During World War II she travelled to Los Angeles, CA where she went to work at the Santa Fe Railroad office. While out in California she met a dashing United States Marine Corp solider named Metro Berezonsky whom she married on October 6, 1945 in Maywood, CA. Together they had three sons; Darry, Gardy and Marty.

Metro and Eunice co-owned and operated DeMetro Jewelers in Marshall for 20 years. They retired in 1985 and enjoyed travelling to Texas and Arizona in their motorhome during their yearly winter adventures. Eunice also enjoyed playing bingo, trying her luck at the casinos, and crocheting blankets and making teddy bears for her grandchildren. She was a lifelong lover of the outdoors and enjoyed planting her flower and vegetable gardens as well as watching the wildlife in her yard and on the Kalamazoo River. Eunice was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her granddaughters, Sheri (Jeff) Coons of Battle Creek, Julie Berezonsky and Susan Berezonsky both of Marshall; great-grandchildren, Sean Marvin and Emilie Marvin; and her sisters, Grace Thorpe and Marie Cook. She was preceded in death by her beloved Metro; three sons; parents; and three brothers, Bill, Harvey, and Donald.
