Eleanor Frances Housman

Eleanor Frances Housman, 83, of Marshall, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence in Battle Creek.
Eleanor was born on August 31, 1937 in Plainwell, Michigan to Rudolph S. and Bernice L. (Hicks) Bullock.
She graduated from Otsego High School in 1955, continued at Eastern Michigan University graduating with her B.S. in Library Science and English. She earned her Master's Degree in Education from Eastern Michigan University in 1965.
Eleanor married Charles V. Housman on June 22, 1974 in Marshall, sadly he passed away on August 29, 2007.
She started teaching English and Reading in the old Central School in Marshall, then at Madison Jr. High School. Eleanor became the Marshall High School Librarian in September of 1959 and retired in 2005.
She was a member of MEA and NEA, past member of AAUW and past member of Delta Kappa Gamma.
Eleanor enjoyed taking trips with Chuck and was a loving devoted pet owner, especially to her cats and dogs.
Eleanor is survived by her brother; Randy (Mary) Bullock of Oscoda, Michigan, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Linda (Thomas) Brownell of Marshall, Michigan, her nieces; Christina Housman Haussener and Kellie Brownell Rosenberg, her nephews; Shawn (Jessica) Brownell, Kevin (Melissa) Brownell, Steven Carr, Raymond Bullock and Ryan Bullock. She was preceded in death by her parents and her bother-in-law; William Housman.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 11:30 until 1:00 PM at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N Marshall, MI 49068 with the funeral service to be held at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Codde officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens in Battle Creek.
