Eldon Wade Lieb, Sr., 83, of Bellevue, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at his residence.
Eldon was born on August 17, 1937 in Battle Creek, Michigan to John Clarence and Ethel (Jones) Lieb.
Eldon was a veteran of the United States Army.
Eldon worked as a maintenance laborer at General Motors in Kalamazoo for 27.5 years, retiring in 1992. He then went to work for Sam's Club in Battle Creek in building maintenance for 17 years.
Eldon's loved working on his farm, was a huge NASCAR fan especially Dale Earnhart Sr., doing yardwork, snowmobiling and racing at Kalamazoo Speedway. He was a CB Radio operator under the name of Seldom. His first marriage was to Ruth Ann Lake, which ended in divorce. His second marriage was to Alice Sue Ellen (Lake) Collige Lieb, sadly she died in 2006.
Eldon is survived by his children; John Lieb II of Bellevue, Michigan, Brenda Schantz of Nashville, Michigan and Eldon (Amy) Lieb Portland, Michigan, his step-children; Gerald Collige of Sturgis, Michigan, Fred (Lisa) Campbell of Parma, Michigan, Tod Collige of Battle Creek, Michigan, Sue (Ron) Hughes of Bellevue, Michigan and Pamela (Mike) Lockwood Mike of Athens, Michigan, his siblings; Sidney (Linda) Lieb of California and Gayl Lieb of Bellevue, Michigan. Eldon is survived by 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and also by many step-grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Alice Sue Ellen, his siblings; Edmund Lieb, Agnes Smith, Margaret Stafford and Arnita VanTassal. He was also preceded in death by his step-grandson, R2 Hughes.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Assyria Cemetery in Assyria Township, Michigan.
