Dorothy Brewer

Dorothy Brewer, 85, of Marshall, passed away in the early evening of March 12, 2013.Dorothy was born on May 24, 1927 to Jack and Leah (Haney) in Caro, Michigan. On March 1, 1962 she married Wentferd A. Brewer in Battle Creek.She cooked at Pennfield Schools for 15 years. Dorothy loved cooking for the children and put her special mom touches in their lunch. Ma, as she was called by everyone, enjoyed cooking and baking for all of her family and friends. No one ever went hungry! She enjoyed going for rides with her husband, Wentferd, sometimes long road trips that kept their kids on their toes!Surviving are her sons, Wayne A. (Kim Jacox) Brewer of Marshall and Howard G. (Sally) Griffin of Olivet; daughters, Evelyn Ashcraft of Texas; 8 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Wentferd A. Brewer.Friends may call at Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home, 723 US 27 North, Marshall on Saturday, March 16 from 5 to 8pm for visitation.Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11am at the funeral home with Rev. Gilbert Douglas officiating. Interment will follow in Porter Cemetery.Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the Fountain Clinic.
