Diane L. Burrows

Diane L. Burrows, 87, of Battle Creek died on January 30, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family following a long illness.
Mrs. Burrows was born on January 28, 1932 in Coldwater to Charles and LaVerne (Zonker) Little. She graduated from Coldwater High School in 1950. Following high school, she graduated from Argubright Business College and later Kellogg Community College. On July 22, 1950 she married Floyd "Pete" Burrows in Angola, Indiana who she has known since she was seven years old.
Mrs. Burrows worked for Calhoun County for 27 years. She worked 11 years in Juvenile Court as a reporter and spent 16 years as the Chief Deputy Clerk in the Country Clerk's office. She retired in March of 1993. Mrs. Burrows was a member of the Ceresco Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, the Oaklawn Hospital Auxiliary and loved being part of the Toy Gild, and the Calhoun Association of Legal Support Professionals. She served on the Emmett Township Planning Commission, and she also was on the Emmett Township Board of Trustees. She enjoyed music and teaching her self how to oil paint and loved making and admiring original oil paintings. Mrs. Burrows was an avid reader of Stephen King books. She enjoyed them so much she visited his house, had a met and greet and got his autograph. Mrs. Burrows loved spending time with her grandchildren and teaching them bout the Wizard of Oz and collecting memorabilia. She loved the outdoors, tending to her flower beds, working in the garden, and spending time fishing at the lake. She and her husband spent many years traveling across the United States and a few different Countries.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years Pete of Battle Creek; two sons, Alex (Charlotte) Burrows and Ricky (Lisa) Burrows, both of Battle Creek; grandchildren, April Ansell, Dawn Vaden, Ashley Burrows, Devin Hall, and Kaelin Burrows; great-grandchildren, Lexi King, Noah Vaden, and Brennan Ansell; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings Dane Little, Lloyd Little and Mary Madriaga.
A graveside service will take place at 11am on Monday February 4, 2019 at Hicks Cemetery. Memorial contributions are requested to Oaklawn Hospice or to the American Heart Association. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
