Debi J. (Rugg) Thomason

Debi J. Thomason, 64, of Battle Creek died on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Oaklawn Hospital following a short illness.

Debi was born on November 9, 1957, in Battle Creek to Robert D. and Joanne (Rounds) Rugg and graduated from Bellevue High School in 1975.

Debi went on to Wright Beauty School in Battle Creek and was a hairdresser for many years at Shear Perfection, J.C. Penny and Regis all in Battle Creek. She loved singing Karaoke and spending time with her grandchildren. Debi was an avid shopper and loved looking for the sales.

She is survived by daughters Amanda Morris and Cassandra Smith; five grandchildren Sidnee Smith, Nicholas Rentz, Nathan Smith, Zachary Smith, and Carissa Morris; mother Joanne (Ron) May; siblings Alan Rugg, Russell Rugg and Ginger (Terry) Berkimer and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Robert Rugg and an infant son.

Visitation will take place from 11am-1pm on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at the Kempf Family and Cremation Services 723 US Hwy 27 N Marshall MI 49068 with a funeral service taking place at 1pm. Family will gather with friends following the service in the Kempf Funeral Home Reception Hall. A private interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery Bellevue next to her infant son.
