David Orville Hodge

David Orville Hodge, 72, of Bartow, Florida passed away on March 14, 2021.
David was born on September 9, 1948 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Clarence Alvin and Marjorie Grace (Lee) Hodge.
He entered the United States Marine Corp. on December 28, 1967 in Detroit, Michigan and was honorably discharged on August 12, 1969 in Santa Ana, California, attaining the rank of Corporal.
David was a processing operator at Kellogg Cereal Company for 18 years and then went to work at Kalamazoo Valley Community College as a maintenance technician.
He enjoyed working around the house and fixing anything that needed it. David liked to golf and watch college football.
He is survived by his wife; Sandra Kay Hodge, his children; Teresa (Don) Lipsey of Arnold, Missouri, Carey (Dan) Telfer of Clayton, North Carolina, David (Lacy) Hodge II of Ft. Worth, Texas, his sibling; Brenda (Steve) Wilson of Battle Creek, Michigan, his step-children; Brian (Kyra) Ward of Mattawan, Michigan, Kevin (Shannon) Ward of Orlando, Florida, Mike Ward of Orlando, Florida, Melissa (Jerome) Payne of Winter Haven, Florida and Michael Scheppelman of Holland, Michigan. David is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private graveside memorial service for David will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan.
Memorial contributions are requested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
