David E. Fisher

November 25, 1951 — May 7, 2020

David E. Fisher, 68 of Homer died on Thursday, May 7, 2020, at the Battle Creek VA Hospital following a long illness surrounded by his children.

Dave was born on November 25, 1951 in Albion to LeRoy “Roy” and Alice (Walters) Fisher.  He graduated from Homer High School in 1970.  He entered the United States Army following high school.  Dave was honorably discharged in 1982.  On October 20, 1971, he married Patricia A. Parkhill in Homer at the Homer United Methodist Church.

Dave Managed the Homer True Value Hardware Store for many years. That's where he earned the nickname of “Dealing Dave”!  Dave and his wife have been Foster Parents for the past 17 years following his retirement at the hardware store.  Dave was a member of the Homer VFW, and the Albion American Legion.  He enjoyed golfing and bowling.  David was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia A. Fisher of Homer; their children, Addie (Bob) Willison of Homer, April Fisher of Homer, Charlie (Jennifer) Fisher of Tekonsha, and Andrew Fisher of Homer; eight grandchildren, Kody Fisher, Keegan, Cauy, and Keir Willison, Khloey and Zoey Fisher, Adara Fisher and Devon Fisher; adopted grandchildren Ariana Brutsche and Krystina Brutsche; several nieces and nephews; and a brother, Robert (Mary) Fisher of Saginaw. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Clyde Fisher, Robin Fisher, Doug Fisher, Gaylord Fisher and Margo Dawn Fisher.

A viewing for the public with family present will take place from 1PM-4PM on Saturday May 16, 2020 at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 303 S Hillsdale St, Homer, MI 49245. ** Due to COVID-19 there will limited to 10 people to a time in the funeral home with entrances and exits marked** Memorial contributions may be given to Homer Firefighters Association, P.O. Box 201, Homer MI 49245 or to the Homer Trojan Athletic Boosters,  403 South Hillsdale Street,  Homer MI 49245 or Mailed to Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services,  P.O.
