Daniel Gillihan, 74, of Marshall, MI passed away on November 6, 2020 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. Dan was born on June 9, 1946 in Linz, Austria, to parents Horace Gentry and Wilhelmina Punt Gillihan. He worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for Garden City Public Schools for 25 years, retiring in 1994. He loved carpentry work, enjoyed working in his yard and home decorating. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Flat Rock, MI. His passion was Old Time Blue Grass music. He was a loving family member and dear friend, who was always willing to help anyone in need. Daniel is survived by his sister, Gerry (Doug) Toth of Dallas, NC; his niece, Kristen Brown and her son, Zachary Brown. Dan was Preceded in death by his father and mother, Horace and Wilhelmina Gillihan. He will also be missed by his beloved dog, Hansie.
Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2020 at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068. A funeral service will be held at the funeral chapel on Friday at 11 a.m., where friends may visit with the family from 10:30 a.m. until time of the service. . There will be a reception in the Kempf Reception Hall following the service. **Due to Covid-19 there will be a gathering limit of 50 people for the funeral service and reception. Interment will follow the service at 3 p.m. on Friday in Cadillac Memorial Gardens West in Westland, MI.
