Charles "Chuck" A. Stevenson

Charles “Chuck” Stevenson, 82, of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, passed away on September 15, 2022, after a courageous battle with heart disease. He was born June 4, 1940, in Mount Clemens, Michigan. He was a 1958 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and went on to attend Western Michigan University.

On July 13, 1965, Chuck was drafted in to the United States Army and was honorably discharged on July 12, 1967 attaining the rank of SP4. Upon leaving the Army, he worked in the graphics trade at various companies in Battle Creek including EPI Printers. He went on to purchase Palmer Envelope Company in 1975 until his retirement in 2006.

Chuck was a lifelong fan of the Detroit Tigers, the Detroit Lions, and the Michigan Wolverines. He was a regular golfer and was a member of the Battle Creek Country Club for many years. He was also an avid dog lover, owning many Yorkies throughout his lifetime. Chuck was a car enthusiast and loved buying, selling, working on, and going to auctions, the Auburn, Indiana Labor Day Auction was his favorite. Chuck especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 41 years, Shirley Stevenson, of Lakewood Ranch, FL; his children; Lisa  (Mark) Stevenson-Johnston of Hickory Corner, MI; Timothy (Sue) Burns of St. Charles, IL; Steven Burns of Lakewood Ranch, FL; Karen White of Naperville, IL; his 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and his beloved Yorkie, Maggie. He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Stevenson, his mother, Odette Stevenson, his daughter, Terri Burns-Morris, and his granddaughter, Paige White and his brother, Fred Stevenson.

Visitation for Chuck will take place on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 11:00 – 12:30 pm at Kemp Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 2838 Capital Ave. SW Battle Creek, Michigan 49015 with the funeral service to follow at 12:30 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Battle Creek Memorial Park Cemetery.
