Carlton G. Weaver

May 24, 1930 — April 5, 2019

Carlton G. Weaver, age 88 of Marshall, MI Passed away April 5, 2019 peacefully at home with the company of his loving family. Carlton was born in Albion, MI to Guy Richard Weaver and Lillian (Miller) Weaver who proceed him in death along with his brothers James Weaver, Kenneth Weaver and Ellen (Weaver) Billings.

Carlton was born and raised on the family farm where he gained a love for the outdoors, a love for family and a strong work ethic proven with his employment of 34 years at Kellogg's in Battle Creek, MI and a proud member of the 25 year club. Carlton attended Marshall High School while working the family farm and was raised by his father and grandmother. During this time Carlton received his chauffeurs' license and drove lime truck for his brother James Weaver. In 1950, at the age of 20 Carlton was drafted into the United States Army and departed for Germany on the MB Stuart ship leaving out of New York during the month of April (the week of Easter) and was stationed in Germany as a Corporal for the duration of his draft. Carlton was honorably discharged and returned to New York in 1952. Thank you Carlton for your dedicated 21 months of service.

Carlton later met and married the late Laure E. (Coats) Weaver and were married 43 years - their two children survive them, Richard Carlton Weaver (James E. Young, Jr) and Lisa Kay (Weaver) Zuck and her husband James C. Zuck along with three beautiful, loving and doting granddaughters, Sarah K. (Wedel) Bourdeaux married to Ryan P. Bourdeaux, Kelley R. Zuck, and Rachael K. Zuck. Carlton could not have asked for any other sweeter granddaughters that adored and loved on him more than these three girls. How blessed they were to have each other and their "Papa" loved and adored them as well. Frances Lebo also proceeds Carlton in death.

During the last three years of Carlton's life he met a wonderful woman Patricia J. Carlton and together they shared a beautiful friendship that developed into a loving marriage. Carlton and Patricia enjoyed an amazing love and companionship for each other all the while keeping Christ the center of it all. Both Carlton and Patricia are longtime members of the Marshall Wesleyan Church - now the Surrendered Life Church. Both Carlton and Patricia experienced amazing joy while serving our Lord. This included being church board members, teaching CYC (Christian Youth Crusaders) as well as preparing the elements of communion and stocking the Suds and Tissues pantry. Carlton always had a willingness to help, an excitement while doing so, as well as a joyful heart.

Carlton also had an amazing love for his new family with Patricia including Mike (Sandy) Carlton, Chris (Phil) Lasky and Mary Carlton (Todd Smith). Carlton also loved their beloved "children" Stitch, Toad, Brady, Ripley, Frank and Stella.
Carlton Guy Weaver will be greatly missed by his family and friends and all those whose lives he touched through his loving heart and grace.
