Brigitte E. (Müller) Sachjen

Brigitte E. Sachjen, 72, of Marshall died on September 4, 2021, at her home following a short illness.

Brigitte was born on May 25, 1949, in Karlsruhe, Germany to Franz and Gertrud Müller. She met her husband, Carl, while he was stationed in Karlsruhe with the Army. They were married there on December 9, 1969. They settled in Jackson, Michigan, where they lived for many years before moving to Homer, Michigan in 1992. Carl preceded her in death on February 12, 2010.

Brigitte worked in retail for over fifty years. She managed the Younkers store in Coldwater from 2002 until its closing in 2018. She enjoyed helping customers and deeply cherished her relationships with her colleagues. She most recently worked as a teller for TCF Bank. She loved people and would strike up a conversation with anyone who was willing to listen. “Everyone has an interesting story,” she used to say. Her favorite hobbies included knitting, archaeology, and listening to German radio.

She is survived by her children, daughter Laura Sachjen, son Nicolas (Dena Kittle) Sachjen; grandson Zachary Sachjen; and special friends Diann Rozek, Tammy Carpenter, and Noah Baker. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

No funeral or memorial service is planned at this time.
