Braxton Thompson Jr., 74, of Homer died on Monday, November 19, 2018, at his home following a short illness.
Braxton was born on August 12, 1944, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to Braxton and Effie (Fannin) Thompson Sr. He graduated from Prestonsburg High School in 1960. On August 14, 1965 he married Dolly Jean Boyd in Kentucky.
Braxton worked as an Electrician at Albion Industries for 36 years. He retired in 2001. Braxton was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church in Homer. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and being outdoors. Braxton was more then an electrician he enjoyed working on and fixing anything.
He is survived by his wife Dolly of Homer; daughter Donna Wetherington of Florida; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three siblings, Gerleen Stevens of Prestonsburg, Lucy Cornett of Georgetown, and Vida (John) Tackett of Prestonsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Connie Lee Thompson.
A memorial service will take place at 1pm on Friday November 30, 2018 at Riverside Baptist Church 25255 M-60 Homer with Pastor Jimmy Collins officiating. Family will gather with friends following the services in the church fellowship hall. Memorial contributions are requested to Riverside Baptist Church in Homer.
