Arthur E. Hess

Arthur E. "Art" Hess, 95, of Marshall, MI passed away on May 02, 2021 at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall. Art was born on March 27, 1926 in Marshall, MI to parents Milo and Grace (Summerfield) Hess. He was a graduate of Marshall High School. Art worked as a Bartender at Wag-On Inn for over fifty years and was a painter that painted many homes throughout Marshall.
His favorite past-times included bowling, with many trophies to remember the good times he enjoyed so much; fifty or so years of parking cars during Fair Week at Calhoun County Fairgrounds in Marshall and, over many years… you may have even seen Art riding his moped around town picking up cans, which he absolutely loved to do.
Art is survived by wife of fifty years, Geneva E. (Wood) Hess; children, Charon Hudson, Brenda (Jay) Noyes, Susan (Philip) Schmidt, Steven (Lydia) Phillips and Mickey Slone; sister, Dorothy (Homer) Lockett. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milo and Grace Hess; and son, David Slone.
Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068. A private graveside service will take place at Oakridge Cemetery in Marshall, MI.
