Alice F. (Jackson) Shepherd

November 5, 1930 — March 31, 2020

Alice F. Shepherd, 89, of Marshall died on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.

Alice was born on November 5, 1930 in Logan, West Virginia, to Marion and Tennessee (Gilliam) Jackson.  On June 6, 1956 she married Tommy Shepherd in Detroit.  He preceded her in death on March 18, 2006.

Alice stayed home and raised her family, and she would babysit for others.  She attended the First Baptist Church of Marshall and the Fredonia Holiness Church.  Alice enjoyed fishing with her husband, camping and traveling.  She also enjoyed needle point and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Glen (Carol) Shepherd of Marshall, Lula Cross of Athens, and Brenda (Norman) Smith of Burlington; grandchildren, Jamie Palmer, Heather McKinney, Cory Shepherd, Allison Goodman, Sabrina Smith, Barbara Hemker, Heidi Williams, Michelle Danke, Janice Pritchard and Christine Rice; several great-grandchildren; siblings Lucille Workman, Herschel Jackson, Geneva Ashby and Juanita Stubbs. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, a son Thomas Shepherd in 1993; and a daughter Frances Rice in 2019 and several siblings.

Due to COVID-19 a memorial service will  take place at a later date.  Family requests memorial contributions the American Alzheimer’s  Association.  Memorial contributions may be dropped off or mailed to Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services PO Box 519, 723 US Hwy 27 N Marshall MI 49068.  Leave a personal message for the family and sign the online guestbook at www.kempffuneralhome.com
