Vonda Lynn (Reed) Ploeg

Vonda Lynn Ploeg, 60, of Marshall, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at home, peacefully, in the loving care of her family.

She was born on December 5, 1961 in Lansing, Michigan but grew up in Marshall, Michigan with her mother (Darlyne Sizemore), step father (Don Sizemore), and her brothers and sister (Van Reed, Vaughn Reed, and Betsy King). Vonda was a graduate of Marshall High School.

Gilbert Ploeg and Vonda were married on July 17, 2004.

Vonda and Gil purchased and then remolded the house that Vonda grew up in in Marshall.  She worked at FireKeepers Casino Hotel in Battle Creek for 11 years as a Supervisor in the hotel. Vonda will be fondly remembered as an extremely dedicated, hard worker with a strong work ethic.  She was consistently selfless and a very giving person. Family, friends, and co-workers could count on Vonda to be there for support, guidance, or with just an ear to listen.  In her free time, she loved to spend time with her husband doing activities such as camping and visiting zoos.  During quiet times, she liked to game, and her favorite game was Hay Day that she played on her cell phone.

Vonda was deeply loved and will be sincerely missed.  She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, aunt, and friend to many.

Visitation for Vonda will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, Michigan 49068 with a memorial service to follow at 12:00 pm at the funeral home.

Interment will take place in the Union Home Cemetery, Greenbush Twp., Michigan.
