Stella J. Ingraham

Stella Ingraham, 102, of Homer, MI, passed away July 10, 2022, in Charlotte, surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 3, 1919, in Miami County, near Bunker Hill, IN, to Versia and W. “Otto” Wood. She moved to Homer, MI, with her family, when she was 8 years old, after the death of her mother. Stella graduated from Homer High School in 1938. On June 14, 1940, she married Clifford Ingraham. Except for a few years spent in Norman, OK, while Clifford was in the navy, and most recently while she was in the nursing home in Charlotte, the Homer area has been her home. She was a life member of Stella Chapt. #140 Order of the Eastern Star, a Homer “Fire Belle”, was employed by the Homer Schools as an aide for many years until changing rank to become “Grandma” to many under the Grandparents’ Program. She also enjoyed traveling wherever/whenever it was possible, attending the Homer Methodist Church, being a member of a card group, crocheting, playing games with grandchildren, and having family and friends come to visit. Stella always had a smile and laugh to accompany her positive lifestyle.

She is Lovingly remembered by her daughter, Bonnie (Jim) Fogel of Spring Lake, MI; son, Bob (Imogene) Ingraham, of Eaton Rapids, MI; 14 Grandchildren, 36 Great-Grandchildren, and one Great Great-Grandchild; sister Mary Muellerleile of Spring Lake, MI; many nieces, nephews, special friend, Dorothy Wade, and the Pittelkow family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Ingraham, son David, and brother Walter.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 14, 2022, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022, 12:00 pm at the Kempf Family Funeral Home of Homer, Homer, Michigan, with Pastor Jeff Kunkel, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Fairview Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Homer Community School Educational Foundation for Scholarships, or Hope Landing Assisted Living in Charlotte, MI or the Homer Fire Department, or Heart To Heart Hospice Foundation.
