Mary Ann Steward

Mary Ann Steward, 87, of Marshall, passed away on January 2, 2025 at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility in Battle Creek, MI. She was born on October 10, 1937 to Joseph and Josephine (Vassallo) Orlando in Detroit, MI. As a child, Mary Ann moved to California. Mary Ann married Allen Preston Steward, Sr. in California and he preceded her in death on August 10, 2002. After Mary Ann married Allen, they moved to Las Vegas and started A to Z Mart Antique Shop. They operated the business for over 30 years. She was the first woman Crap dealer in Las Vegas, and she worked at Caesar's Palace in the office. Mary Ann enjoyed gaming at the casinos. 

Mary Ann is survived by her children, Doreen (Jack) Woods of Marshall, MI, Allen Steward, Jr. of Marshall; grandchildren, Matthew (Erin) Steward, Olivia Woods; great-grandchildren, Kayden and Kinley Steward; sisters, Yvonne Orlando of Rogers, AR, Antoinette Orlando of Marshall, MI. 

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Visitation will be held Friday, January 10, 2025, 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services with the funeral service starting at 11:00am with Reverend Father Craig J. Lusk, officiating. Burial will take place in the Oakridge Cemetery.
