Lorene "Lorie" Ellen Siegrist

Lorene "Lorie" Ellen Siegrist, 85, of Lansing, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Cortland Assisted Living in Lansing, Michigan. 

She was born on July 22, 1939 to Ulysses and Gladys (McAdam) McDowell-Michael in Detroit, Michigan.

In January of 1979, she married Robert Siegrist and they went to the Super Bowl on their honeymoon, sadly he passed away on October 29, 2000.

She was a 1957 graduate of Homer High School. While living in Florida, Lorie worked as a para-legal for many years and was also active in many volunteer community events.

Lorie enjoyed sewing, including making her own clothes and crafting. She had many items for sale in Hallmark stores throughout the Lansing area. Lorie along with her friends loved to travel within the United States. Reading, following the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and Michigan and Michigan State sports teams were favorite past times of hers.

Lorie is survived by her children, Tammy Squire of Eaton Rapids, Michigan, JoDee Sparks of Three Rivers, Michigan and Josh (Mahria) Siegrist of Dewitt, Michigan; her 12 Grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and her brother, Dennis (Connie) McDowell of Hillsdale, Michigan. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Janean Shaw and her brother, Richard McDowell.

A graveside service will take place on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Fairview Cemetery in Homer, Michigan.
