Joann Julia Harrington

Joann Julia Harrington, 87, of Marshall, passed away on May 8, 2024 at her home in Marshall. 

She was born on March 21, 1937 to Fred and Ann (Wendor) Altergott in Chicago, IL. Joann married Wibur Walterhouse and he preceded her in death on September 24, 2016, she then married Phillip J. Harrington and he preceded her in death on September 26, 2021. Joann retired from Post Cereal Company after 21 years. She worked on the Tang line and she dropped toys into the cereal boxes. 

She loved animals, especially her cat, Jack. Joann also enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, squirrels, and deer around her house, she also enjoyed taking care of the flowers around her house. She liked to play games on her iPad and listen to country and polka music. Along with roller skating with Phil, she enjoyed traveling with both her husbands, Wilbur and Phil. 

Joann is survived by her son, Kenneth (Judy Hughes) Walterhouse of Battle Creek, grandchildren, great grandchildren; sister, Virginia (Timothy); nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her son, Mike Walterhouse and her parents. 

A graveside service was held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, 2:00 pm at Oakridge Cemetery in Marshall.
