James "Randy" Bowman

James "Randy" Randall Bowman, 74, of Homer, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. 

He was born on August 18, 1950 to Richard and Coralee (Barker) Bowman in Zanesville, Ohio.

On May 27, 1977 Randy married Gloria Eppley and they moved to Michigan shortly thereafter to begin raising their family. He was a man of many talents, as he owned and operated Bowman Construction Company in Homer and then became the longtime owner of Bowman Tax Service also in Homer. Randy was a longtime supporter of the Leon Draime Golf Tournament Charity for supporting the Homer School District and other community projects. 

Randy enjoyed bowling at Meadow Lanes in Homer for many years and he also enjoyed golfing. He loved to be outside whether it was hunting and fishing or especially tending to his garden. Randy was an avid baseball fan, especially the New York Yankees. He always had many pets around the house, and he enjoyed feeding and watching the birds and completing jigsaw puzzles. Randy will be missed for being an amazing caregiver to his wife Gloria, being an excellent cook, playing jokes and riddles on his family and setting an example for all to follow.

James "Randy" is survived by his loving children, Laura (Jeromy Jordan) Fouch-Carpentier of Homer, Michigan, Stacey (Joe Fullmer) Bowman of Hersey, Michigan, Kelli (Richard) Mix of Newnan, Georgia and Harry Sean Fouch of Augusta, Michigan; his grandchildren, Skye Bowman, Chelsea (James Butler) Carpentier, Noah Fouch, Avery (Jesse) Fouch, Katie (May) Mix, Cheyenne Mix; and his great grandchildren, Jaydon James Bowman, Xander Klunder and Emma Klunder; his siblings, Tam Bowman of Zanesville, Ohio, David (Judy) Bowman of Richfield, Ohio and Richard Bowman, Jr.; his special friend, Jerry Irvin of Homer, Michigan; his sister-in-law, Sharon Bowman of Springfield, Ohio. 

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years Gloria, his parents and his brothers, Dan Bowman and Terry Bowman.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 3, 2025, from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at Kempf's of Homer where the funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm. Fr. Eric Bowman officiating. 

Memorial contributions may be directed to Homer Community School District.
