Hermine Wilson, 89, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away on June 4, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born February 3, 1935, to Anton and Magdalena (Hack) Mayer in Augsburg, Germany. On May 26, 1979, she married Clarence Wilson in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Hermine is survived by her daughter, Sandy Howard of Battle Creek, Michigan; son, Mark (Kandyce) Herr of Bellevue, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Diane Herr of Battle Creek, Michigan she is also survived by seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; son, Michael Herr; son-in-law Larry Howard, sister Antonie Cooper, and her parents.
Hermine loved her beautiful gardens, and they were a source of great joy in her life. She had a passion for knitting and basket making, belonging to the knitting and basket guild. She enjoyed crafts and being outdoors. She also loved to play cards, and there was never a family gathering that did not include a game of euchre.
While living in Germany, Hermine worked as a beautician, and after moving to the United States she worked at Swan Beauty Shop in Battle Creek, Michigan. She also worked at Corning Glass and later retired from Eaton's.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N., Marshall, Michigan 49068.
