Geraldine (Doyle) Teegardin Zugel

Geraldine Doyle Teegardin Zugel, age 95 of Battle Creek, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at The Laurels of Bedford. She was born on January 24, 1926 to Joseph Doyle and Genevieve (McDonnell) Doyle. She was married to Russell M. Teegardin in 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1975. Geraldine later married Theodore B. Zugel in 1977 and he preceded her in death in 2003.
She was employed by Bill Knapp's Restaurant for many years. She owned and operated Teegardin Drive Inn with her husband Russell for fifteen years. She took great pride in being a mother and grandmother.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Russell and Theodore; her son, Russell John Teegardin; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Teegardin; stepsons, Theodore Zugel Jr., Donald Zugel and Gregory Zugel; granddaughter, Jennifer Zugel; three brothers, Joseph, Kenneth, and Donald Doyle; and one sister, Sharon Babcock.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Craig; grandchildren, Deborah (Paul) Guthrie, Pamela (Michael) Reniger, Robert (Lori) Teegardin, Brian (Susan) Teegardin, and Chris Craig; four step-grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Delores Bleam.
A Funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 61 N 23rd St, Battle Creek, MI 49015. There will be a Rosary service at the church on Monday at 9:30 a.m., with visitation to follow from 10 a.m. until time of the Mass. Following the Mass, a graveside service will be held at Mt.
