Georgia Gene Cordrey of Marshall, Michigan passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo.
She was born May 25, 1947, to George E. and Regina U. (Schnitzler) Cordrey in Marshall. During her childhood and teen years, her summers and school vacations were spent at the family’s cottage at Lyon Lake where she enjoyed playing with her many friends. These memories have forever remained some of the happiest times of her life.
Georgia grew up in Marshall attending St. Mary Catholic School through the 8th grade and then Marshall High School graduating with the class of 1965. She then attended Kellogg Community College receiving an Associate’s degree in 1967 and graduating from Western Michigan University in 1969 with a Bachelor’s degree. Later on in life she returned to Western Michigan University and received a Master’s degree.
She also became a Paralegal after completing a course in Philadelphia, PA. She worked for various lawyers and then the Calhoun County Prosecutor’s office retiring in 2010. After retirement she spent her time socializing and chauffeuring many of her dear friends. She will be greatly missed by her wonderful friends of many years.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Kempf Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Marshall, Michigan and a Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 11:00AM, St Mary Catholic Church, 212 W. Hanover Street, Marshall, MI 49068.
