Galen Paul Schultz, 75, of Homer, Michigan passed away on May 8, 2024, at home surrounded by the love of his family.  

He was born on September 8, 1948, to Garfield and Esther (Knuth) Schultz in Albion, MI. Galen grew up in Homer, and was a 1966 graduate of Homer High School where he excelled in track, basketball, and baseball. He went into real estate, was a property owner and manager, and joined the Albion Fire Department in 1976 serving the community for 26 years.

Galen and his wife, Kathy enjoyed Florida as a special place of relaxation. He also enjoyed spending free time helping on the family farm in Homer, just being in the woods, as well as cutting firewood.

Galen is survived by his wife, Kathy and her sons, Michael Skinner and Carlie of Petoskey, MI, Brian (Arlene) Skinner of Chelsea, MI and Robert (Meghan) Skinner of Albion, MI; his grandchildren, Seth (Katharine), Autumn, Sophia, Brendon, Angelina, Emily, and RJ Skinner; his daughter, Hillary Schultz; and also, sister-in-law, Ginny Schultz of Homer, MI.

He was preceded in death by parents; son, Blake Schultz; sister, Donna and husband, Dennis Humphrey; and brothers, Gerry and Arvid Schultz.

A Memorial Gathering for family and friends will be held at Cascarelli’s of Albion, 116 S Superior St, Albion, MI 49224 on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 1PM – 3PM.
