Eric D. Buehler born June 17, 1967 to Stephen and Shirley (Merchant) Buehler, Williamson, passed from this life October 21, 2024. He is survived by his mother, Shirley Williamson and stepfather, Jeff Williamson; brother Vincent (Linda) Buehler; several cousins and too many friends to count. He was pre-deceased by his father, Stephen Buehler and uncle, Dean Merchant.
He graduated with the Harper Creek class of 1986.
Eric was a self-employed contractor, helping to build several homes in the Battle Creek area and as a project manager, building commercial stores, though out the United States.
Eric was witty, self-deprecating, and sarcastic, all of which he used to get a laugh. Whenever he went to the hospital for treatment, everyone knew Eric as soon as he hit the front door, and it was constant bantering until he left the premises. He always said that you have to laugh to live the best life. Everybody that he talked with became an instant friend.
Eric was an accomplished woodworker. He could envision what he wanted to build, draw detailed plans, and build what he envisioned. He built several pieces of furniture for himself. There didn't seem to be anything that he couldn't build. He made tools to make jewelry. He was constantly making new pieces of jewelry, no two the same. He enjoyed giving them to friends and family. He was encouraged to sell them, but didn't want the "hassle" of that, and quite frankly, didn't want to use the time it would take. He was always looking for ways to be more efficient, whether it was building stores, woodworking, working with machinery or just in general. He always said that he didn't think like most people. He approached things from what he considered a logical point of view. If you didn't agree or see his point, he would show you how it was a better way. He was always right!
Eric had many other interests. He loved to shoot and had a large gun collection. He was a big Lego fan. He couldn't pass up a Lego store if it was in the neighborhood. He found that he could get Lego's, or almost anything for that matter, from Amazon! Big fan! He took a lot less time than most to build a Lego piece, having started that career when he was about 3 years old, riding in the back seat of his parent’s car on the way to visit relatives in Alabama. Eric was a big car buff. He enjoyed the Gilmore Museum and enjoyed showing it to friends. He was also a huge Formula One Racing fan. He had his TV set to record anything regarding Formula One. His favorite team was the Mercedes team, and he owned and drove several Mercedes. After his friends rode with him, and they got their breath back, they always said that he thought of himself as a formula one driver and tried to be the ones to drive the next time.
He also loved a good meal. His favorite was a good filet from Morton's in Chicago. He was also partial to Cornwell's Turkey Farm, and Station 66. Pizza Sam's was his go to for pizza, but he also loved pizza from Giordano's in Chicago.
Eric was the kind of person that was always there for you, whether you needed him or not, but somehow, he always knew when he was needed. Even if he had to put his own life on hold, he was there for you. He did many kind things for others, without asking anything in return. Eric was the kind of man that would do a favor for anyone in need.
One last thing, his friends always said he invented the wheel. Humongous collection! He definitely found more ways to use the wheel than anyone ever will. Eric is loved and can now Rest In Peace, in a better place, helping others that need him!
