Elmer Heisler, Jr.

Elmer Heisler Jr., 78, of Albion, Michigan passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida.

He was born on September 23, 1944 to Elmer and Ruth (Leavengood) Heisler in Albion. He was a graduate of Springport High School. Elmer has been a lifelong farmer, owning and operating Heisler Farms for decades. He has done it all when it comes to farming, from tending crops to raising live stock, mainly pigs.

Elmer was a member of the Michigan Farm Bureau and the Michigan Pork Producers Association. He was the Chairman of the Clarence Township Board of Review for over 20 years. Elmer was also a member of the Albion Elks Lodge #1798, Albion Moose Lodge #381 and Albion Eagles Lodge # 1265. He was an active volunteer with Calhoun County FFA and the 4-H Clubs for many years. Elmer enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid shuffleboard player as he earned enough points to be titled a professional. Elmer also enjoyed his leisurely drives around the farm and drinks with lifelong friends in town during happy hour.

Elmer is survived by his two sons, Mike (Teresa) Heisler of Albion, and Marc Heisler of Albion; his 5 grandchildren, Hannah Heisler of Albion, Taylor (Eric) Browning of Albion, Carrie Heisler of Hamtramck, Michigan, Madelyn  Heisler of Albion, and Eden  Heisler of Albion; his great grandson, Bryce Browning; and his two former wives, Brenda Heisler and Kendra Heisler and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter, Alixandra Heisler and his brother, Larry Heisler.

Visitation for Elmer will take place on Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, Michigan 49068.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 19, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Kempf Family Funeral Home, Marshall, Michigan. Burial will follow at Clarence Center Cemetery, Clarence Twp., Michigan.
