Elizabeth “Marie” Lowe, 68, of Albion, Michigan, transitioned to her heavenly home when she heeded the call of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 20, 2024.
She was born on May 19, 1956 to Onvie Lee Weatherall and Mildred Marie (Williams) Moore in Albion, Michigan. She attended and graduated from Albion Public Schools and attended Jackson Community College. On May 14, 1983 she married the Love of her life, Lewis “Sack" Lowe at Gethsemane Temple Church of God in Christ in Albion, Michigan. To this union, they had one child Janet better known to most as “Pooka” or “Doll”.
Elizabeth worked as a Housekeeper at Albion Community Hospital, school recess aid and cook for Albion Public Schools for several years and later, she opened her own daycare from home for another 15 years. Elizabeth loved to cook and especially bake, reading her Bible, listening to gospel music, singing and being a prayer warrior. Elizabeth was a lifelong member of Gethsemane Temple Church of God in Christ under the elite leadership of the late Superintendent James S. Lee, and presently Eustice Williams in Albion, Michigan in which she was active in the church choir and an ordained missionary, prayer and Bible band President and Purity class President. She loved going to church, with her signature look of beautiful shawls with slacks and pleasant smell (for those that know, know as she has a perfume that she wore, strictly for church!) When she was asked “What does she want people to know or remember most about her"? She said, that she loved the Lord!! And she would begin to sing “May the work, I’ve done speak for me and Get right with God” She was the epitome of Proverbs 31 and Titus 2. She was strong, resilient, loyal and wise.
She also, enjoyed watching classic and western movies, sporting events and reading Bible study lessons.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving daughter, Janet Lowe of Albion, Michigan; her sister, Shirley (Prentiss) Thurmond of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her brother's, Johnnie (Barbara) Moore of Jackson, Michigan and Ernest (Donna) Moore of Las Vegas, Nevada; her aunt, Mary (George) Duncan of Albion, Michigan. She is also survived by many family, godchildren, and special friends.
