Elaine Nancy Lohrke

Elaine Nancy Lohrke, 84, of Homer, passed away on July 12, 2024 at the Spring Arbor Assisted Living in Spring Arbor, MI. She was born on July 1, 1940 to Wilbur and Ella (Allman) Patton in Albion, MI. Elaine married Leonard D. Lohrke III on October 26, 1963 at the First Methodist Church in Albion. Leonard preceded her in death on March 25, 2024. She graduated from Albion High School in 1958. She then attended Western Michigan University, and Jackson Business University. Elaine worked as an Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Student Affairs for Albion College and as an Executive Secretary for Albion Malleable until Nancy was born. She went back to work when Lance was 4. She had worked for Albion College for 26 years. However, Elaine's most rewarding workplace was working for S.A.F.E. Place as a Domestic Violence Coordinator. She was a member of the Daughter's of the American Revolution and she received a 60 year plaque and she was 4H leader. Elaine enjoyed going to craft shows, making crafts, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Elaine is survived by her children, Lance (Laura) Lohrke of Albion, MI, Nancy (John) Yirku of Albion, MI; 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; sister, Estella Roberts and brother, John (Judy) Patton.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 19, 2024, 10:00 am - 11:00 am with the funeral service at 11:00am at Kempf’s of Homer with Pastor Steven Shafe officiating.

Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery in Albion.
