Dorothy Louise Stults

Dorothy Louise Stults, 92, of Marshall, Michigan passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024 in Marshall, Michigan.

She was the eighth of eleven children born on January 6, 1932 to Harry and Esther (Rapp) Miller.

Dorothy attended Nichols Country School and graduated with the class of 1949 at Olivet High School. On August 17, 1952, she married Donald Stults at Olivet Congregational Church. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2008.

Starting as a bank window teller and moving into an Administrative Assistant position at Michigan National Bank in Marshall, she was the first person seen as you entered the bank. After more than 30 years, she retired in 1993.

Dorothy was a longtime member of Olivet Congregational Church. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, needlepoint and crossword puzzles. Dorothy is affectionately known for knitting countless Christmas stockings for children and grandchildren of family members, friends and neighbors. Dorothy and Donald also hosted many Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for the Miller family.

She is survived by her children; Denise (Terry) Travis and Doug (Laurie) Stults, her grandchildren; Kristie (Chris) Travis-Hillman and Karen Travis, her three step-great grandchildren; Katrina, Branden (Kellsie Martin) and Zachary and her three step-great great grandchildren; Benjamin, Emma and Emmett. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, her siblings, Margaret Miller, Harry (Bill) Miller, LaVern Miller, Robert (Toad) Miller, Marian Heisler, Betty Faulkner, Shirley Lawler, Darlene Coats, Mildred Foote, Mary Lou Duckham and special niece Sandra Place.

Visitation for Dorothy will take place on Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, Michigan 49068.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Jack Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery in Marshall, Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Olivet Good Neighbor Program or Kids Food Basket (Grand Rapids, Michigan).
