Carol Catherine Blake

Carol Catherine Blake, 95, of Albion, passed away on August 23, 2024 at Evergreen Senior Care & Rehab Center in Springfield, MI. She was born on January 21, 1929 to Carl and Chrystal (Wyranch) Garland in Detroit, MI. Carol worked as a secretary for Valeron Corp. Carol married William E. Blake in February of 1950, even though they divorced, they remained friends until he passed away on May 28, 2018.

Carol was strong in her faith. She was a member of Faith Assembly of God in Olivet. She enjoyed going to the Senior Center in Homer to play Euchre and she would play Rummy with her family.

Carol is survived by her children, Steven Blake of Delta Junction, Alaska, David (Susan) Blake of Albion, MI, Thomas (Catherine) Blake of Alpena, MI, Joanna Farley of Pontiac, MI and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents; son, Jonathon Blake and grandson, AJ Escobar.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 30, 2024, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm with the funeral service at 12:00 pm at Kempf’s of Homer Event Center, 303 S. Hillsdale St., Homer, MI with Pastor Isaac Escobar officiating.

Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery in Homer. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in memory of Carol may do so to The Gideons International.
