Brandon Mark Beattie

Brandon Mark Beattie, 38, of Marshall, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on July 26, 2024, at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. 

He was born on December 31, 1985, to Martin and Cindi (Kibler) Beattie in Marshall. He was a graduate of Marshall High School, class of 2004. He attended Ferris State University for Digital Animation and Game Design. In addition, Brandon attended KCC RMTC, receiving a Certificate in Industrial Trades. 

On September 24, 2011, Brandon married the love of his life, Morgan Smith, at Leila Arboretum in Battle Creek. In the years since they have built their farm, life, and family in Marshall.

Brandon enjoyed time in the upper peninsula at the family’s cabin that he helped design and build. He loved doing anything with his wife and kids, including camping, snowmobiling, running trails with the Ranger, teaching his son to work on anything and everything, and playing Mario with his daughter. He was also a dedicated farmer at his family’s farm, and worked tirelessly to make sure it would succeed to leave to his children. Brandon also worked as a mechanic for the W.K. Kellogg Company for almost ten years. Brandon enjoyed golf and fishing with his grandpa. Brandon had many interests and enjoyed many things, but above all he treasured his wife and children. Family truly is where he found his greatest love and joy.

Brandon is survived by his wife of twelve years, Morgan; daughter, Hanna and son, Ryan; parents, Martin and Cindi Beattie; brother, Brian (Angie) Beattie, of Marshall; mother-in-law, Sheila Burlingame-Smith of Marshall; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Miranda and Philip Heath of Marshall; nieces and nephews, Alex (and his daughter, great niece, Adley), Noah, Cody, Kole, Jack, and Luke Beattie, and MacKenzie, Addison, and Wesley Heath.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Jack and Joyce Beattie of Marshall and Henry and Lois Kibler of Marshall. 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2024, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM and Thursday, August 1, 2024, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM at the Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, Michigan 49068. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM with Jacob Washburn, officiating. Per Brandon’s request, cremation will follow.
