Beverly Joan Eis, 89, of Marshall, passed away on June 21, 2022, in Marshall, MI.
She was born on June 10, 1933, to Wiley and Arlene (Losey) Rampy in Springport, MI. Beverly worked as an Ambulance Dispatcher for Albion, for many years. She was a cook at two Albion College fraternities for ten years; also served as House Mother at one fraternity. She always said how much she enjoyed being around the college students, their “wacky behavior always made me feel so young.” She had fun everyday while working. Her work was always of the gregarious type, she loved being around people.
She owned and operated “Bev’s Restaurant” in Albion for 5 years.
Humorous Anecdote: Even though she laughed daily with her fraternity students at the college, there was one incident that did not elicit laughter. One fall during hunting season, one of the students went out and shot a deer, then brought it back to the kitchen freezer for safe preservation and storage. Beverly did not laugh at this event and the deer was never served to the students.
Her faith and church may have been her greatest love, especially in her later years. She was a member of St. John The Evangelical Parish, in Albion, her entire adult life. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, sang in the church choir for many years and volunteered at Fish Fry events, spaghetti dinners, and helped with the church’s funeral luncheons. She spent much time with her friends, helping drive them to appointments, and read scripture to those homebound or failing in the hospital. She was a giver and got her greatest pleasure from helping others. she was also a member of the Albion Historical Society for a number of years, and was involved with the Festival of the Forks annual event.
Beverly is survived by her two Sons, William "Bill" (Lorna) Eis, Brian (Roxann) Eis; Daughter-in-Law Sandy Eis; Grandchildren, Michael Eis, Kelly Eis, Kristen Eis, Savanna Eis, Scott Watkins, and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Richard Eis, Son, Richard Eis, Brother, Richard Rampy, Sister, Delores Murphy, Brother, Gary Rampy.
