Betty Ann Wilson, 94, of Marshall, passed away on July 12, 2024, at her residence. 

She was born on September 15, 1929, to Wallace and Phyllis (Latham) Merrill in Chicago, IL. Betty graduated high school and went on to graduate from both Stephens College, AA and Northwestern University, BC. She worked as an elementary teacher in Chicago, California, Maine, and American School in Naples, Italy. On June 15, 1951, she married Herbert E. Wilson, Jr. in Chicago, IL. 

Betty was a former member of AAUW and The Monday Club of Marshall and an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church and WPC. She also volunteered for Red Cross Bloodmobile, Oaklawn Hospital Gift Shop, and was a driver and board member of Mobile Meals. 

Betty is survived by daughter, Wallis Anne Franks of Memphis, TN; Grandson, James E. Hindmon of Memphis, TN; sister-In-laws, Harriet (Wilson) Carroll, Pat Wilson O’Leary. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Cmdr. Wilson died in 2002; and parents, Wallace and Phyllis Merrill.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, Michigan, 49068. Per Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place, a funeral service and interment will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 101 E Mansion St, Marshall, MI 49068 on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 beginning at 1:30 PM, Deacon Thom McPherson officiating.
