Annie Florence Mazure, 57, of Marshall, passed away early Friday morning, December 16, 2022 in Oaklawn Hospital. Born December 20, 1964 to Dr Christopher (deceased) and Phyllis Mazure in Detroit Osteopathic Hospital, she was raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Annie graduated from Kingswood School, Cranbrook and earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Michigan with High Honors. During her junior year at Michigan she studied in Freiberg Germany and spoke fluent German and French as well as Spanish. She later earned a master’s degree in Business from Oakland University also with honors. She worked for Campbell Ewald and was awarded a year in Washington as a loan executive. Her expertise seemed to lie in advertising writing and creativity. She designed two award-Christmas cards for the company. She did work for Oaklawn hospital as an executive in public relations and was active in the acquiring of the MRI Machine and developing the Diabetic unit. She enjoyed her many friendships there. Annie was a talented six foot tall athlete playing tennis for Kingwood and being #4 on the U of M Women’s Tennis team. She was also an avid lacrosse player and swimmer on the BOH interclub swimming team…She was a good runner/walker and skier as well. Lately Annie was very active in her AA group, disorder support group, eating and spent a great deal of her time volunteering in the Marshall Presbyterian Church. She ran the audio system there, sang in the choir, read from the pulpit, and generally participated in worship service. Annie was known for her quick sense of humor, and her innate ability to solve problems. She was good at writing articles and had a way with words. She was very sensitive and often over reacted to situations but quickly figured out her role and tried to right the situations. She is survived by her mother, Phyllis Mazure Sutton (Mike); and her brother, Eric Christopher Mazure (ne`, Meg McIlroy Mazure and son, Nick). She was especially close to Michael Sullivan, Aunt Gwen Smookler, Mike and Missy in the Smookler Clan and the Sisson Clan. Her Uncle David and wife, Dorothy and their two daughters were also dear to her. On the Sutton side, she was close to Michael and his daughter Nichole.

Services have been entrusted to Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 200 W Mansion St, Marshall, MI 49068 on Friday, December 23, 2022 at 11:00am, Pastor Penny Pitts officiating. Interment will be at Kirk in the Hills Presbyterian Church, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
