Obituary

Susan J. Dryer, age 80, of Marshall, MI passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 16, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She grew up on Lake Michigan and graduated from High School from Three Oaks High Michigan. After high school, Susan attended Olivet College where she earned her Bachelors in elementary education. Susan was a dedicated teacher at Mar Lee School for more than 27 years. Susan's teaching methods were well before her time, her students participated in Poetry Slams where they would perform the literature they were learning about for classrooms throughout the school, regardless if it was a disruption or not! The students loved participating and still talk about it. Susan was a master knitter and crafted beautiful treasures for every member of her family. When she wasn't knitting she was busy in her beautiful flower gardens or reading. Susan was a wonderful mother and grandmother, teacher and friend. Susan left a mark on everyone she met and will live forever in our hearts.
Susan is survived by her children, Kathleen (Alan) Hoehne, James "Andy" (Kara) Dryer, William (Jennifer) Dryer; grandchildren, Neal & Drake Dopp, Hallie Holmes, Jericho, Jova, Jordan, and Kelsie Dryer; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Annie Green. She was preceded in death by her son, Scott Dryer; parents; and brother, Steve Camburn.
Family will receive friends at Marshall United Methodist Church, 721 US 27 N, Marshall, MI on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 4:00pm-6:00pm.
