Ralph Ozuna Ybarra

October 25, 1929 — June 25, 2018

Ralph "Bunk" Ybarra, age 88, of Marshall, MI passed away peacefully Monday, June 25, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in San Antonio, TX on October 25, 1929 the son of Luis and Paula (Ozuna) Ybarra. He proudly served his country and was a recipient of the Bronze Service Star, National Defense Service Medal, and United Nations Service Medal. After returning from the war, Ralph met Paula Ramos, they were married on September 26, 1951 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marshall.

Ralph was a devout Catholic and was proud of that. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church for several years. He loved music, singing and playing the accordion. Ralph enjoyed working in his vegetable and flower garden. Most of all Ralph loved spending time with his family and was a wonderful father and grandfather. He also had a special love for his bull dog "Fayo".

He is survived by his son, Jose Pepe (Julie) Amaro; grandchildren, Tyler Amaro, Alexis Amaro, Madeline Amaro, Tyler Vaughn and Taylor Vaughn; great-grandchildren, Emilyn Amaro and Finn Hughes; sisters, Hilaria Luna, Alicia (James) Morse; brothers, David Ybarra, Antonio Ybarra, Roberto Ybarra, and Jose (Eloisa) Ybarra. Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Paula; parents; twin brother, Thomas Ybarra; brother, Luis G. Ybarra, Jr.; sisters, Paula Ybarra Monroe, Louisa Ybarra Halsey, and Olivia Ybarra.

Family will receive friends at Kempf Funeral and Cremation Services, Marshall on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 5:00pm to 8pm. A graveside service will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 12:00 noon. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Marshall VFW.
