Ralph Charles Ackley

Ralph Charles Ackley, 84, of Marshall passed away June 2, 2019 at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall.

Ralph was born on July 8, 1934 in Albion to Carl W. and Norma E. (Hartwick) Ackley.

He married Georgia Bisel on May 18, 1957 and they had 3 children. Ralph and Georgia shared 62 loving years together.

Ralph graduated from Albion Community Schools. After High School he worked at State Farm Insurance Company in Marshall, Auroquip Automatic in Marshall, Sanders Hardware, and then went on to work as a Screw Machine Operator for Legends Manufacturing in Jackson. He retired his career with the company in 2002 at the age of 65.

Ralph enjoyed camping and spending quality time with his family. He liked working at various food pantries, and volunteering at the church. He was also a very good handy man.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Georgia Ackley of Marshall; children, Dennis Ackley of Marshall, Brenda (Samuel) Allen of Olivet, and Kathy (Michael) Kilbourn of Marshall; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Norma Ackley; brother, Robert Ackley; and sister, Margaret Myers.

Cremation has been conducted and a memorial service will be held at the Battle Creek First Assembly of God on Saturday June 15, 2019 at 3pm with Pastor Steven Amaro officiating.

Funeral arrangements are by the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 Old US 27 North, Marshall Chapel.

Memorial contributions are requested to the First Assembly of God located at 800 S 24th St, Battle Creek, MI 49015. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, Marshall Chapel.
