Naomi J. Marietta

December 31, 1927 — October 7, 2018

Naomi J. Marietta, 91, of Battle Creek died on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the Colonial House Adult Foster Care following a short illness.

Naomi was born in Danville, Illinois on December 31, 1927, to Harry Earle Seymour and Ethel (Lindroth).

Mother and daughter moved to Battle Creek when she was 5 years old and she attended Level Park and Kellogg Agricultural Schools.
Naomi worked at Eaton Mfg. Co., Dr. Lyle Chapman in Union City, Hugh McPherson and Frigid Foods.

In 1972, she married James E. Marietta in Las Vegas, NV. They moved to Florida in 1976 and owned The Palma Sola Pub in Bradenton and when that sold, they went into the cleaning and maintenance business.

Upon retiring they moved to the mountains of North Carolina and then returned to Battle Creek in 1999.

Naomi enjoyed many trips in their travel trailer, flying with her husband Jim, gardening, feeding the wildlife along the creek in their backyard and spoiling her cat "Frosty".

Preceding her in death were her mother; step-father George S. Wright; step-brother Robert Wright; sister Patricia Hull; brother Earl Wright; former husbands Wilbur R. Uldriks and John D. Lynn.

She is survived by her son Rolla "Skip" Uldriks; grandson Josh (Jennifer) Uldriks; great-grandchildren Jevin and Jorja; sisters Charline (Ronald) May and Patricia Hull and a sister-in-law Judy Wright, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There will be a celebration of life at the Riverside Country Club, 245 E Columbia Ave, Battle Creek on Sunday Oct. 21, 2018 from 2-4pm.

She would be pleased if all would remember her by "Paying it Forward" and being kind to animals. Leave a personal message for the family and sign the online guest book at www.kempffuneralhome.com.
