Kirk R. Sower, 33, of Marshall died on Friday, October 26, 2018 at his home.

Kirk was born October 1, 1985 in Grand Rapids to William Mason and Kristen Sower. He graduated from Belding High School in 2004 and served honorably in the United States Army for two years. On March 24, 2018 he married Madalyn R. Glaser at Goodar Bible Church in South Branch,Michigan.

Kirk was employed by Musashi Auto in Battle Creek. He had a great sense of humor and could light up a room. He enjoyed the outdoors andloved camping and fishing. He also enjoyed working with his hands and taking things apart just to try to make them work better. He loved mowing the lawn and using his snowblower. He also loved spending time and eating at his in-law's house. Hemade sure there were never any leftovers as he loved his mother-in-law's cooking. He really enjoyed teaching his sons and stepdaughters new things. Most of all, he loved spending time and caring for his family.

He is survived by his wife, Madalyn; children, Tyler and Nathan Sower of Marshall, stepdaughters Payton Serbantez and Lexus Winner of Marshall;siblings Mikayla (Ted) Mathewson of Kentwood, Chad Mason, and Mercedes Mason both of Belding; his father, William Mason of Belding; his grandparents, Doris (Jerry) Pearson of Fenwrick and Joyce (Charlie) Sower of Belding; and his nephew Alek Aguilar of Kentwood.

Kirk is also survived by his wife's family who all loved and accepted him as part of their family: father and mother-in-law, Matthew and Annette Glaser of Marshall; brother in-laws Joshua Glaser of Marshall and Luke (Courtney) Glaser of Battle Creek; nephews Landon, Carson, Brayden and Graysen Glaser of Battle Creek and many aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides.

He was preceded in death by his grandpa Richard Sower and his beloved mother Kristen Sower.

Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Marshall Chapel of the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US 27 North. Funeral services celebrating his life will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday November 10, 2018 at the Marshall Chapel of the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Scott E. Camp of Goodar Bible Church in South Branch officiating. Memorial contributions should be made out to his children in his wife's name. Assistance with memorials is also available at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
