June L. Oberlin, 79, of Lee Township, died on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall following a short illness.
June was born on April 28, 1940 in Marshall to Homer and Ruth (Raymond) Bischoff. She graduated from Olivet High School in 1958. On August 22, 1959 she married Stephen G. Oberlin in Eaton Rapids. He preceded her in death on February 6, 2004.
June retired from the Kellogg Company in May 1996 after working for 27 years. She also helped her husband on the farm for a few years. June attended the City on the Hill Church in Olivet, and was a member of the Marshall Women of the Moose. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and going to the beach. June was a loyal fan of the Detroit Lions and Tigers. She would always refer to the Tigers as "her boys" and would always keep up on all the games. June treasured time spent with her family especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Julie (John) Hamm, Joanne Oberlin, and Jeff (Lori) Oberlin; grandchildren, R.J. Hamm, Kyle Hamm, Ashley Oberlin, Devin Oberlin, and Travis Oberlin; brothers Gary Bischoff and Robert (Patty) Bischoff. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister Linda Fox.
Family will greet friends 4-7pm on Monday, June 24, 2019 at the Marshall Chapel of the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services 723 US 27 North, Marshall. Funeral services celebrating her life will take place at 11am on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Marshall Chapel of the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation services. Family will gather with friends following the committal services at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services Marshall Chapel Reception Hall. Memorial contributions are requested to Oaklawn Hospice. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
