Jerrine A. Gillette, 94, of Marshall passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 at Marshall Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.
Mrs. Gillette was born on December 23, 1923 in Grayling to James and Pearl (Marden) Mathews. She graduated from Grayling High School in 1942. On April 11, 1942 she married Frederick Gillette in Albion. He preceded her in death in 1996.
Mrs. Gillette was a home maker staying home to raise her family. She belonged to Entre neu and Garden Club for over 50 years in Albion. She enjoyed going to the Albion Elks for their Sunday Breakfasts. Mrs. Gillette would meet at the Blue Moon Restaurant in Albion for breakfast with her lady friends every morning. She was an avid gardener and spent much of her spare time volunteering around the community. She enjoyed canning, cooking,and baking. She also enjoyed crafts from making candles to wedding cakes with her best friend Hazel. Mrs. Gillette's Apple Squares and homemade rolls will be missed by the family and Albion Community. Her love was spending time with her five generations of family. She loved spending time with her daughter Peggy who was her best friend.
She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Domingo of Battle Creek; daughter-in-law Sarah Gillette of Augusta; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Frederick Gillette, Jr.;a daughter, Debra Kaye Gillette; and son-in-laws Jim Domingo and Jeff Begg.
Family will greet friends on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 10am-11am at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services with a funeral service taking place at 11am with Pastor Allen Henson officiating. Family will gather with friends following the service for a luncheon in the Kempf Family Funeral Home Reception Hall. Interment will follow the luncheon at Albion Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed to American Alzheimer's Association. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
